Copper wire is recognized worldwide as a strategic commodity and serves as an upstream raw material in the wire and cable industry. The quality of this product has a direct impact on performance, conductivity, and copper consumption in finished products, which is why wire manufacturing technology is of particular importance.
In the global industry, two main methods are commonly used to produce copper wire: continuous casting combined with hot rolling, which offers high production capacity, and upward casting (Upcast), which focuses on purity and product quality with lower capacity. Cabland has adopted the Upcast method and complemented it with an additional cold-rolling process, implementing a distinctive technology that eliminates fundamental defects in copper wire and elevates the final quality of the product.
In this process, copper wire is produced with high purity and very low oxygen content, offering greater electrical conductivity, higher flexibility, and lower density compared with conventional methods. These characteristics make it possible to reduce copper consumption by 3 to 5 percent in the production of various wires and cables under equivalent conditions—a benefit that, in addition to lowering raw material costs, leads to energy savings and higher production efficiency. For this reason, global demand for this type of wire is increasing, given its specific technical and economic advantages.
One well-known advantage of the Upcast method is the ability to use copper scrap instead of copper cathode—a fact that has led to a common misconception in the market, where wire produced by this method is sometimes equated with scrap-based wire (FRHC). In reality, copper wire produced from cathode using the Upcast method (ETP) offers higher purity, greater flexibility, and lower electrical resistance, and differs significantly in quality from scrap-based products.
At Cabland, the production process is designed so that the initial wire is produced at a larger diameter and then reduced to its final size through cold-rolling stages. This approach fully corrects structural defects and improves product uniformity, creating real added value across the production chain. Relying on this distinctive technology, Cabland is shaping a new perspective in the market and supplying the wire and cable industry with wire that delivers higher conductivity and lower copper consumption, meeting the needs of the industry today and in the future.
Founder of Zanjan Wire and Cable Company (established 1990)
The late Haj Hamzeh Bagheri was one of the pioneers of the wire and cable industry in Zanjan Province and an influential figure in the country's manufacturing sector. Relying on faith, perseverance, and practical experience, he founded Zanjan Wire and Cable Company in 1990, at a time when Iran's wire and cable industry was on a path of development and consolidation.
With a deep understanding of the copper industry, market needs, and technical production requirements, the late Haj Hamzeh Bagheri built this company on principles such as quality, integrity, compliance with standards, and commitment to domestic manufacturing. His long-term and responsible vision for the industry gradually transformed this production unit into one of the most recognized and trusted companies in the wire and cable sector.
Throughout its years of operation, Zanjan Wire and Cable Company played an effective role in supplying industrial and infrastructure projects and creating sustainable employment in the region, thanks to principled management and the founder's tireless efforts. Special attention to human resources, knowledge transfer, and the cultivation of a healthy work culture were hallmarks of the late Haj Hamzeh Bagheri's leadership.
After years of dedicated service, this industrial group was transferred to the next generation of the family in line with his forward-looking vision, and it continues its growth and operations based on the same values and foundations. Today, the name and legacy of the late Haj Hamzeh Bagheri lives on not only as the founder of Zanjan Wire and Cable Company, but also as a model of committed entrepreneurship and enduring industrial leadership.
